Housing Hall House

"To me, Hall House means comfort, support and a chance to start over. It helped me change my life and my children's too."

      -Past Hall House Resident

Hall House is a 16-bed residential shelter located in Oneida County and offers women and children the opportunity to be in a safe place while working through many of the problems caused by family violence. The residence is licensed by and adheres to the standards of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.

Hall House was opened in 1981 thanks to a large bequest from Dr. William Hall, a local doctor and long-time friend of the YWCA of the Mohawk Valley.  Since then it has served more than 5,000 women and their children fleeing from violence in their home.  The YWCA provides the only residential programs dedicated to domestic violence in Oneida County, NY. (Hall House is located in Utica and Lucy's House is located in Rome)

If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence and in need of emergency shelter please call our 24-hour hotline at 797-7740.
