Purple Ribbon Campaign

Our annual Purple Ribbon Campaign will be conducted on a smaller scale this year with respect to our business partners and their operations during COVID-19.

Purple Ribbons will be on sale at participating Sav On and Maple Leaf stores throughout the month of October. Proceeds will benefit both YWCA Mohawk Valley and Help Restore Hope – Liberty Resources of Madison County. For more information on this campaign, email Kari Procopio at kprocopio@ywcamv.org.

Purple Ribbon 5 & 5

Our newest addition to the Purple Ribbon Campaign is Purple Ribbon 5&5! 5&5 is our way to engage with you virtually at a community level and spread awareness for domestic violence throughout October.

Domestic violence is an epidemic that affects millions of individuals every year across the globe. You can change that.

How?  By getting involved, spreading awareness, advocating for justice, and supporting missions like ours.

20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the US5&5 Friday, October 9

Nearly 20 people per minute experience violence by their intimate partner in the United States alone. You can change that.

Use your voice and connect directly with your state and federal representatives! Take advantage of YWCA USA’s Virtual Action Center. The center uses your zip code to generate prewritten letters, emails, and phone scripts about dozens of topics for you to contact your elected officials.

Let your voice be heard loud and proud: we are demanding justice for survivors. Get started today: ywca.quorum.us/actioncenter.

Between January 1 and October 1, 2020, our 24/7 staff have answered nearly 1,200 calls to our free and confidential crisis hotline. That averages four calls every day from those seeking our lifesaving services. You can change that.

Did you know? This summer, we expanded our hotline services to include new texting and online chat capabilities. We are always learning how to better serve our friends, family, and community. Expand your awareness knowledge by learning something new today, too. Check out our resources at ywcamv.org/WhatWeDo.

33000 services

5&5 Friday, October 23

YWCA MV has provided almost 34,000 instances of service so far in 2020. 34,000 services to support survivors and eradicate domestic violence here in the Mohawk Valley. So far. You can change that.

Our staff works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to eradicate domestic violence from our community. It can be life-threatening for someone to speak out about their experiences with domestic violence; you never know who might be silently surviving. Check out our resources at ywcamv.org/WhatWeDo and share something you learn that could help save a life.

you have the power to save lives5&5 Friday, October 30

By the beginning of October, YWCA MV had already increased our number of services by 30% over the entirety of 2019. We’re projecting to increase services by 50% overall, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. You can change that.

Just $5 can help  in a big way. All proceeds directly benefit our domestic violence crisis services and programs. You never know who might be silently surviving in an unsafe home. Share this page and challenge 5 friends to give $5 to make an even bigger impact. Together, we will eliminate domestic violence from our Mohawk Valley community.
