take back the night - April 2022

Take Back the Night is our biannual survivor-centered event. We hold this event every April in observance of National Sexual Assault Awareness Month and National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Who:

Take Back the Night is free and open to the public. This powerful evening serves as a reminder that survivors of sexual violence and child abuse are not alone.

What:

Our traditional Take Back events include a rally, march, confidential speak-out, and candlelight vigil.

When:

Thursday, April 14 @ 6 p.m.

Where:

Herkimer College Campus, Robert McLaughlin College Center (RMCC) small auditorium

Why:

To raise awareness for the impact of sexual violence and child abuse at every stage of life. To stand in solidarity with every person impacted, whether they decide to share their story or not. To show every survivor that we see them, we hear them, and we believe them.

YWCA MV is proud to serve survivors of both sexual violence and child abuse in Herkimer County. To access our free, confidential, and 24-hour services, call our hotline at 315.866.4120 or visit ywcamv.org/Chat.

Our April 2022 Take Back the Night is made possible by our friends at NBT Bank and Niki Marie’s Salon.
