YWCA MV Campus Advocates provide advocacy, accompaniment, and personal support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Our agency partners with colleges and universities throughout Herkimer and Oneida counties to provide these services to students, faculty and staff, and third party associates of each campus. Through this partnership, our Campus Advocates have been able to work directly with administrative staff to provide students with access to our support network and services. Our Campus Advocates are also available for guidance through Title IX and Enough is Enough legislature and procedures.

Campus Training/Education Opportunities
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a comprehensive federal law that protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities which receive federal financial assistance. The law prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. Colleges must promptly respond to complaints of sexual harassment and sexual violence in a way that limits its effects and prevents its recurrence.
