YWCA MV Workshops
This interactive workshop for employees covers New York State’s mandated sexual harassment training requirements. It includes examples of unlawful harassment by industry and takes a holistic approach to creating an inclusive workplace environment that is free from sexual harassment. In addition to NYS mandates, it includes strategies aimed at recognizing and preventing sexual harassment through bystander intervention and creating a healthy workplace environment.
This special workshop for managers and supervisors combines the Sexual Harassment 101 with creation of a sexual harassment policy and reporting protocol. Attendees leave with a policy in hand.
Bystander intervention workshops are one of the most effective ways to empower employees to address and prevent harassment and discrimination in the workplace. This workshop will provide employees with the knowledge and tools to intervene and stop inappropriate behavior before it rises to the level of unlawful harassment.
This trauma-informed batterers intervention curriculum and program design addresses domestic violence, accountability and self-care. Utilizing a strengths-based, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused approach, activities educate on what constitutes abusive behaviors; stimulate introspection; promote personal responsibility for abusive behaviors and teach non-violent conflict resolution.
This course provides basic knowledge of the various forms of domestic and workplace violence. Domestic Violence and the workplace workshop provide information about the signs, impacts, and behaviors that an individual may exhibit if they are experiencing this type of violence. By the end of this workshop the employees will have a better understanding of what this type of violence may look like and how to seek help for themselves or others.
This is a comprehensive approach for organizations that desire to create and maintain an inclusive, safe space for their faculty, staff, clients, and/or students. Our LGBTQIA+ workshop includes interactive activities that provide knowledge of basic vocabulary, pronouns, and ways identify how to make an organization a safe space for all individuals.
This workshop provides basic knowledge of sexual violence and addresses rape culture, consent, adverse childhood experiences, and trafficking. By the end of this workshop the attending individuals will have a better understanding of what this type of violence may look like and how to seek help for themselves or others.
Trauma-Informed Care is an essential approach that recognizes the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledges the role that trauma may play in an individual’s life, including service employees. This interactive workshop strives to reframe thinking, questioning, and speaking to avoid re-traumatization of the individual by emphasizing physical, emotional, and psychosocial safety.
